Animal Assisted Activities
The Medical City Children’s Hospital Animal Assisted Activity program has been in place since 2003. We partner with the SPCA of Texas Compassion Connection Program to provide Delta Certified therapy dogs to visit the children and families on a weekly basis.

The program helps pediatric patients adjust to hospitalization and enhances therapeutic goals by providing diversion, motivation, socialization and enjoyment. Thanks to the furry, four-legged visitors—and their owners—smiles fill the hospital on a regular basis.

Music Therapy
Child Life Services partners with Hugworks to provide musical experiences for patients and their families. Whether children are participating or just listening, a musical experience helps children express themselves—something that helps them heal.

The Hugworks team serves children at Medical City Children’s Hospital in two ways:

• Therapeutic entertainment happens on a monthly basis. It includes an interactive concert in the playroom and songs at children’s bedsides.
• Music therapy occurs weekly in one-on-one sessions with professional music therapists.
